You’ll be working with Cat’s kit of materials so all you need to bring is your imagination to this 2-hour wax carving workshop.. Before class, think of your ring style in terms of shape (minimal, organic, lumpy or sleek) who will be wearing it. Many of Cat’s students design their wedding bands or commitment jewelry. You may sketch out your idea and bring it to class, along with an object that inspires you, like a memento, a photo, or maybe something found in nature.

You’ll have Cat’s personal guidance as you carve a band from jeweler’s wax, then shape and sand it into your unique vision. When your wax is just right, you’ll send it to Cat’s Vashon Island studio where she’ll use the ancient process of lost-wax casting to craft the ring from precious metal and then finish it to your exact specifications. The result will be an extraordinary piece to wear or gift—an heirloom-worthy treasure that’s truly one of a kind.
