New Retailer: The Chequit Press release

SHELTER ISLAND, NY, June 13, 2016 -Salt Hotels continues to broaden its brand offerings with the

launch of its first retail outlet Salt Supply at The Chequit, the celebrated Shelter Island property that was recently named to the coveted Condé Nast Traveler 2016 HOT List;  The new retail outlet opened on May 27, 2016, just in time for summer.

Salt Supply, an exciting new retail concept, is the brainchild of
Salt Hotels; Creative Director Kevin OShea, who has personally curated all of the merchandise. Featuring a distinctive collection of products from small independent
designers, craftsman and manufacturers, the shop is organized into four simple categories: Beach Supply, a home section called; Island Supply; as well as His Supply; and Her Supply which feature unique personal accessories.  

For Salt Supply, we curated a diverse collection of merchandise from brands and artisans that share a similar ethos to Salt Hotels. So, they all bring a singular vision and dedicated craftsmanship to their individual products, said Kevin O'Shea. We want the Salt Supply retail experience to be all about discovery, to be emotionally evocative, and bring delight in the unexpected.

Each category offers an eclectic mix of goods and guests will find one-of- kind pieces to complement their vacation wardrobe, provide a unique decorative touch for their home, or conveniently pick up items that may not have been packed in their luggage.  There is also a great selection of items to choose a perfect souvenirHere's a closer look at what's in the store and a few of the companies behind the distinctive merchandise:

Beach Supply - Handmade leather sandals from the Greece-based NIKOLA SANDALS; canvas beach totes from J STARK; completely natural unisex moisturizing products from JAO BRAND

Island Supply - Colorful stationery and gift wrap from KNOT + BOW; greeting cards with original illustration by TAY HAM; CONWAY ELECTRIC stylish and functional extension cords, used in The Chequits guest rooms

Her Supply - A selection of ocean-inspired jewelry from GRACE GOW, including her
Barnacle Ring and earrings and a necklace from HECHIZO; scarves based on hand painted designs from DEALTRY

His Supply - Surf-inspired hats and tees by WAMPUM; hand-crafted accessories from

Salt Supply is currently open on weekends through June 30, 2016 and open seven days a week from July 1st through Labor Day 2016.

ABOUT THE CHEQUIT

Located on Shelter Island, a bucolic retreat nestled between Long Island North and South Forks, The Chequit is a historic 37-room inn that was completely renovated in 2015 by Salt Hotels.  The inn design harkens back to the goldenage of vacationing on Shelter Island at the turn of the last century with a crisp and contemporary interpretation.
